Our New Home

Our new home, which we bought for $750 and needs some TLC!

A look at the inside. It's a mess now, but soon it will be like new!

My little drawing of the layout... if you can see it at all, it has two bedrooms and one bathroom. The layout of the great room is perfect and it also comes with a little shed, which Kent says isn't in good shape at all.

God's Provision

It is amazing how God provides for us continually. God has blessed us incredibly this past semester! He has been Jehovah Jireh for us, providing everything we need in miraculous ways. Even though I have been unemployed and we've had rent and loans to pay, somehow when we get all the bills paid each month, we come out with just enough to buy groceries and necessities. This provision has come in the way of anonymous gifts, random work opportunities, government unemployment, and now a promising job offer! I am so in awe of the way He works to give us everything we need and more!

BIG NEWS!

I have been offered a teaching internship at Drake University and Aaron and I will be moving to Des Moines in July for the next calendar year. Also, since I did so well on my GRE on Monday, I am planning on applying to PhD programs in linguistics for the 2011-2012 academic year. Here is the list of schools I am considering:
University of Chicago
Yale University
Harvard University
Georgetown University
Oxford University
Stanford University
Northwestern University
University of Iowa
University of Texas Arlington
Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics

Carolyn's Shower

On April 30th I hosted Carolyn's Bridal Shower/Goodbye Party. It turned out to be a 3E reunion and we all had a great time catching up. After dinner at SAGA we came to our apartment for cake and games. After playing Spoons and Apples to Apples, we watched Father of the Bride and enjoyed each other's company late into the night. It was a really nice time for Carolyn and for the rest of us.
