I finished my thank you notes!

As of 9:23 tonight, I finished our thank you
notes for the wedding. I've written over 80
thank you notes in the past three weeks,
addressed them all and put in pictures.
I'm so happy to be done! It's such a relief!

Our "Sweeties"

We love our kitties!
Aaron is the sweetest dad, playing with LeBron and calling her "Sweetie" all the time. It's been fun watching him take care of our babies and make sure they are fed and have clean water and litter.

First Track Meet!

First track meet of the season. I think it might have been the smallest track meet ever! The Thunder Track Team traveled to Wisconsin to compete against about 8 total non-Wheaton athletes in all the events. The meet was hosted by the University of Wisconsin Parkside.

It was fun to be with the team and get to watch all the events.

Aaron did pretty well with a jump of 5'10".

I tagged along to do videoing of the field events.

Los Gueritos First Game

Los Gueritos lost their first game today at King Arena after battling mightily. The roster shows 10 guys, but only 9 guys showed up for our game today. Dan's back was hurting him. Matthew and Aaron put up some pretty good shots, and Matthew's defense made for a good laugh on the sidelines. As for me, I kept score and was announced the official "team mom" when I produced cookies for the team at the end of the game. All in all, it was a fun loss...

Beef Stew

Today I made my first crockpot experiment: beef stew! I also made biscuits and gravy to go along with. Aaron loved it. This is one of his favorite meals. It's been so much fun cooking for him and learning how to make what he really likes, and especially how to do it really cheap. This meal only cost us about $4, and it will last us for another meal at least! I really enjoy having my own kitchen and being able to cook whatever I want!

Swimming

Yesterday we went swimming to make up for Aaron's sick day last Thursday. I was really impressed in his progress even this far into his swimming class! He is no longer afraid to put his head under water and now he's even able to do the bobbing exercise 10 times in a row! He showed me how he can do the backstroke and sidestroke and he's getting really good at both of them! I'm so proud of him for facing his fears and for signing up for this swimming class!

Welcome to the Family!

Welcome to the family!

Kobe Lane Woodard

LeBron Jane Woodard

Freshly brought home from the rescue, both 4 month old kitties are enjoying exploring their new home, although the extremely shy Kobe mostly enjoys sitting in the litter box while the more gregarious LeBron loves to chat with anyone and everyone. Ben came by to help christen their arrival, and has since struck up a teasing relationship with little LeBron. Poor little girl can't figure out why the ribbon is pulled away as soon as she catches it. :)

Housewarming

Our house is officially warm! We had about 15 of our friends stop by yesterday for our housewarming, bringing with them much happiness and gifts! Here's what the house looks like now that we're warmed. We finally got chairs, I think they're really cute, but Aaron's not so sure. I myself used the studfinder to hang this shelf in the living room, which holds international souveniers, DVDs, and wedding memories. I also hung our crosses this week and put up photos of family members around the room. We

framed our wedding license and displayed it during the party, along with the audio of the wedding. People enjoyed munching on yummy homemade cookies (by me) and looking at our pro pics online. Amy and Katie brought us a plant which we have named Preston and now livens up the bedroom quite a bit. We had a great time and enjoyed seeing friends again! It was fun to host people in our home and entertain together as We Woodards!

Wedding Photos!

Today the Nuzums posted several
wedding pictures of us on facebook,
and more will be coming soon at:

Put-Back Basket to Win the Game!

Basketball game last night was pretty much the most exciting thing ever! Check out this video of the final moments of the game:

Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton College men's basketball team earned a dramatic 66-65 victory against #17-ranked Illinois Wesleyan on Wednesday night in King Arena. The Titans led 65-64 with four-seconds left in the game when Thunder senior Ben Panner took a shot that fell short of the basket and was collected by junior Andrew Jahns who put the ball through the hoop as time expired for the Wheaton victory.

Honeymoon!

Delhi, Iowa
January 3-9, 2010

Hey everyone! So it's time to post pictures of our Honeymoon! We had lots of fun, spent the week at a cabin in Northeastern Iowa in the cold and snow. On Tuesday we went into Dubuque to watch Iowa win the Orange Bowl and to do some shopping and eating out (see photo at left) and on Thursday we had another snowy adventure when the
car skidded off the road and had to be pulled out (see photo at right).

Other than those few adventures we mostly spent the time indoors eating Andrea's cooking and playing games. We also spent a significant amount of time watching the first season of 24 and getting addicted to the show. It was a blast and the best possible way to spend our first week as We Woodards!

Married and Loving It!

Well, after two and a half weeks as official Woodards, we love being married! The wedding was beautiful and effective, seeing as how now we're married, and we're finally getting settled into our new home. As soon as I can figure out how this thing works a little better I will upload pictures from the wedding and from our wonderful honeymoon. We're looking forward to all the adventures to come and we hope you enjoy taking the ride with us. Love, We Woodards
