Bewitched

My new favorite show - Bewitched! We watch it all the time, well... I watch it and Aaron kinda rolls his eyes. What can I say? I think it's entertaining to watch a young housewife from the sixties who can do magic! Is that bad? Also, I enjoy the old jokes and words and realizing how much the world has changed in 50 years.

Birthdays Party!

Happy Birthdays Aaron and Matthew. On Wednesday night we had a combined birthday party for Aaron and Matthew! Because I suck and forgot, there are no pictures from the party, but we were all having such a good time talking and eating my delicious pies, that we didn't realize we should be snapping photos. Aaron is off to the Northern Iowa Sweet Sixteen game today in St. Louis for his special birthday thing, and Moofy received a soccer ball from Sarah and a shirt and a voter's registration application from me! Hooray for my two favorite men! I love you both.

Winterfest

This past weekend was Winterfest, Blanchard Alliance Church’s annual high school retreat. This was the fourth time that Aaron has gone on the retreat, which was extra special because his small group is made up of seniors this year. Though Blanchard didn’t defend its championship in broomball, it was still an amazing weekend of fun, rest, and growth for all the students. The theme of the weekend was “Gospel,” so the primary messages were about God’s love for us and how humans respond to that love. The speaker was Rob Bukowski, associate pastor of Bethel Community Church in Chicago (another of the four churches that attend Winterfest). Rob was able to speak to the students in a unique manner because he was once the youth pastor at Bethel, so he attended several Winterfests as a leader, and before that, he attended Winterfest as a student at Bethel in the early ‘90’s. God spoke in many ways to the students from each church, and we pray that the commitments made will be prayerfully followed up on the upcoming weeks and months.
